Palazzo Sitano is a noble residence in the historic centre of Palermo and it appears in official records and maps between 1712 and 1860.
Today Palazzo Sitano is a hotel that has been fully renovated to reconcile the wonderful original architecture with modern interior design and comfort-oriented spaces.
The result is warm and bright. The interior winter garden and the reading room are an ideal working environment, equipped with a business station, but also a place to relax and recharge after a day of shopping in the southern Italian city of art par excellence: Palermo.
The entire hotel was conceived to provide maximum comfort and functionality to our guests: for example, the modern bar with comfortable lounge furniture, the small wellness area and the large roof terrace immersed in green from which you can see Palermo from above. Breakfast is another moment you will enjoy in an impressive hall with arcades filled with light, and our rich buffet will help you begin the new day full of energy.
Staying as a guest at Palazzo Sitano is to sleep in the history of Palermo.
Historical notes on Palazzo Sitano
The history of Palazzo Sitano has its roots in an intense historical, architectural and urban area in the very heart of Palermo: between Piazza Marina, the Fieravecchia and the Loggia quarters. Ever since the 18th and 19th centuries, the building is on the same block and shares its history with Palazzo Trabucco, the Oratorio di San Lorenzo, the Oratorio dell'Immacolatella and the Chiesa and even older Convento di San Francesco.
The Palazzo has its façade on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, once called the Kassaro, and it stands as a massive guardian to the ancient garden of the Convent.
Like a jewel case, the Palazzo unveils the Franciscan garden inside with a passage through the bare stone loggia, now repaired and refurbished by careful restoration. This historic property has now returned to its former glory, yet offers modern high-quality conveniences.
